Global Poverty

“Safety and security don't just happen, they are the result of collective consensus and public investment. We owe our children, the most vulnerable citizens in our society, a life free of violence and fear.” – Nelson Mandela

Further statistics from UNICEF show that approximately 17 million children suffer from severe acute undernutrition globally. Severe acute malnutrition is the direct cause of mortality of roughly 1 million children each year. Every single day, approximately 1,000 children below 5 years old pass away from illnesses, such as dysentery, cholera, and diarrhea, caused by inadequate sanitation and contaminated water.
